Grant Geissman, "Say That!"
Legendary guitarist Grant Geissman has thrown down the gauntlet that separates the Jazz men from the Smooth Jazz boys. Say That! is a triumph, a collection of thirteen original Grant Geissman compositions that play like a righteous melding of 1960s Wes Montgomery, Horace Silver, and Jimmy Smith. It’s real music that swings, simmers, smolders, and burns. It’s good for the soul, and anything but “smooth”. Featuring the jazz version of the Theme from Two and a Half Men, the hit CBS-TV series (composed by Geissman). Original cover art by beat/low brow artist Miles Thompson! Includes a full color insert with extensive liner notes by noted jazz critic Bill Milkowski, and a bonus facsimile piece of sheet music for “Say That!”

Battlefield Band, "The Road of Tears"
The path of emigration is a well-trodden one in the history of the Celtic nations, so it is no surprise that many songs and compositions have been inspired by the subject. Battlefield Band has touched on the subject on past albums. On this album, as they were recording it, the theme of ‘displacement of people’ sort of took over. Battlefield Band have not tried to come up with any answers; just music and song, contemporary and traditional that show the issue of ‘Immigration’ has always been there. The subject of Immigration has inspired much great and moving music and words and highlighted on this album are experiences from Scotland, Ireland, the Americas and Australia, plus a setting by Alan Reid of Robbie Burns popular poem, as well as a couple of bonus songs from previous albums.

Luke Doucet, "Broken (and other rogue states)"
Broken (and other rogue states) is the hand-held camera of country music. In Broken, we hear none of the predictable twists and turns, nor are we sedated with needless repetition. Instead we experience the visceral unfolding of melody and backlit refrains, every song channeling the most electric moments of a day. Broken (and other rogue states) is the dawn of country verité. Ottawa Citizen declares it the “break-up album of the year”. The album by Sarah McLachlan’s former guitar player inspired arts cover stories in both of Canada’s national newspapers. Broken has also earned reviews in Rolling Stone, Uncle Sally’s, Visions (all Germany), and Maverick, the Sun, Uncut, Word, and Q (UK).

Mountain Con, "Sancho Panza"
What if the Velvet Underground made “I’m Waiting for the Man” with a Hip Hop producer? What if the Stooges jammed with Check Your Head-era Beastie Boys? Answer these riddles and you will be pretty close to the sound of Mountain Con’s 3rd full length album. Sancho Panza, recorded in the Con’s studio in Seattle’s industrial district, hijacks Garage Rock and slams it smack into today’s urban music scene. Sancho Panza, already picked up by Seattle’s KEXP and KNDD, promises to bring Mountain Con to the national level. What does the future of Rock sound like? This disc makes a very compelling argument.

Carol Ames, "shades of indigo"
Carol Ames is a Texas-bred Americana artist and Shades of Indigo is a sexy, energetic Americana record with hints of country in which Carol augments her fine songwriting with vocal performances to match. "Carol Ames is one of those rare triple threat artists,” says Lonny Brooks of Taylor Guitars. “Besides being an electrifying performer, she is a top flight writer and producer”. This is further evidenced by her recent crowning as Grand Prize Winner in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest for her song “West Virginia” which easily won over the judges with its lyrical originality, pristine production and Carol's soaring vocal performance. Carol wrote all but one of the tracks on the CD herself. She also produced Shades of Indigo, her third CD.
